Yahoo!Yahoo! has over 260,000,000 email accounts in their system and is easily one of the largest email providers on the planet. As a marketer you cannot ignore these numbers and you know it is best interest to do anything and everything you can to help Yahoo! trust you and your emails.  There is nothing worse than ending up in a spam box or having your emails rejected all together!

The Feedback Loop

Fortunately Yahoo! allows bulk email senders and ISPs to register a feedback loop address.

Yahoo! uses the ReturnPath Feedback Loop Serivce.  This means that you can start to build trust with all of ReturnPaths customers (like Comcast, BlueTie, Cox, Roadrunner, USA.net, etc.) by simply never sending spam emails.  Eventually ReturnPath will lable you as a reputable sender.

By completing the feedback loop registration form you accomplish two things:

  1. You instill a little more trust in Yahoo! ’s Anti-Spam filters.  Trust is everything!
  2. You will be alerted when a Yahoo! customer marks an email you sent as spam so you can remove that user from your email list.

The Next Step

  1. You will need to have setup and configured your feedback loop email address.  I recommend using abuse@yourdomain.  They will require you confirm ownership of this email.
  2. You will need to register your servers outbound IP address’ that you wish to recieve feedback for.
  3. Never spam and handle any and all complaints promptly.

Now that you have everything together head over to the Yahoo! Feedback Loop Registration Form and get started.
